The National Archives at Kansas City

For Immediate Release:
Opened: May 2009

Some of the most important documents in the country now have a new home in KC. The new, state-of-the-art facility adjacent to Union Station houses more than 60 million pages of historical records-including photos, maps, letters and other items dating back to 1815. Visitors can research family trees, replicate famous signatures or view rare documents from around the region, such as the original complaint from Brown V. Board of Education, the court case which ended school segregation. Admission is free.
