Kansas City, Mo. - Visitors looking for advice on the most unique places to visit in Kansas City will soon have a little help from fellow travelers. Kansas City's visitors can now cast votes at VisitKC.com for the inaugural KC Visitors' Choice Awards. The Kansas City Convention & Visitors Association developed the awards program to give visitors the chance to recognize their favorite businesses and attractions in 19 different categories, from Favorite Barbecue Restaurant to Best Midwestern Hospitality. The finalists for each category were chosen by an online survey of visitors during a two-week nomination period in January. These are the only awards chosen by visitors to Kansas City. "With the Visitors' Choice Awards, we're not just lending a voice to the 16.5 million travelers who come to Kansas City annually, we're honoring those businesses and attractions that have helped Kansas City earn its reputation for exemplary customer service," said KCCVA President Rick Hughes. "The Visitors' Choice Awards also allow past visitors to guide future travelers to their favorite places in Kansas City." Voting is open through May 1 at VisitKC.com. One lucky voter will win a family prize package from the Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City, Kan. To ensure that the winners are true visitor choices, only votes from outside the five-county metropolitan area will be counted. The winners will be announced on May 22 during the CVA's Annual Tourism Celebration at the Kansas City Convention Center.
