Seven Reasons People Will Be Talking About KC in 2007

  1. The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial is the only museum of its kind in the country and is receiving great reviews for its realistic exhibits and state-of-the-art depictions of the Great War. Opened Dec. 2, 2006.


  2. The new ballroom at the Kansas City Convention Center will offer dramatic views and state-of-the-art lighting as one of the 10 largest convention center ballrooms in the country. Opened April 28, 2007.


  3. The new Steven Holl-designed Bloch Building at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art will be a world-class addition to one of the country's premier general art museums. Opened June 9, 2007.


  4. The new Sprint Center will be among the finest arenas in the country, and its circular, all-glass design will provide a unique experience for major sporting events and concerts. Opening Oct. 13, 2007.


  5. The new College Basketball Experience and the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame will bring a permanent visitor attraction to Sprint Center in this first-of-its-kind facility affiliated with the National Association of College Basketball Coaches. Opening fall 2007.


  6. All of the above major new attractions add up to a big year of grand openings and new discoveries in Kansas City.
