In collaboration with area minority chambers and multicultural organizations, the Kansas City Convention & Visitors Association (KCCVA) will host a Multicultural Showcase at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Harrah’s North Kansas City. The event is designed as an educational and networking opportunity for those that cater to and support minority-owned businesses. The event is also the launch party for the KCCVA’s Multicultural Guide and a part of the 2009 MED Week Celebration.
The theme of the Multicultural Showcase is “Mardi Gras in October.” The event will emphasize Kansas City’s growing diversity, and offer the chance to network and discover with festive cuisine, live entertainment, door prizes, gaming demonstrations and a Mardi Gras Cash Slot Tournament. The networking event will be preceded by an educational seminar from 3 to 5 p.m. titled “Funding Options for Small Businesses.”
