Kansas City, Mo. — On Sept. 8, Kansas City will again play host to the Tour of Missouri professional cycling race. The first day of the 600-mile, six-day event concludes in Kansas City with final circuit laps on Ward Parkway and the Country Club Plaza. An exciting component of race is the Health & Wellness Expo, held near the circuit's finish line. Applications are now being accepted for exhibitor and vendor space.
The Expo will run before, during and after the race, from noon to 6 p.m. on the Plaza. The event provides local businesses and organizations with the opportunity to promote their healthy products and services to thousands of race spectators. In 2007, more than 40,000 people attended the race and Expo. This year, the festive atmosphere will include family activities, live music and a new women's race.
Two categories of space are available for participation in the Expo: vendor ($500) and exhibitor ($125). Vendors are allowed to sell products, while exhibition space is for informational booths only. Standard booth sizes are 10' x 10' and include one 8-foot table, two chairs and a tent.
For more information or an application, contact Heidi Downer at the Tour of Missouri Local Organizing Committee at 816-513-7527 or heidi_downer@kcmo.org. Applications are due Aug. 15.
