Southwest Airlines has placed Kansas City on sale as this week’s Featured Destination. From June 24 through 30, Southwest is offering airfare specials for travel to and from Kansas City when booked on Southwest.com. Prices start at $69 one way.

In addition to flight deals, the Featured Destination promotion also includes special rates at six Kansas City-area hotels: Aladdin Holiday Inn, Argosy Casino Hotel & Spa, Hilton Kansas City Airport, Hotel Phillips, InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza and Westin Crown Center. Hotel rates start as low as $99 a night.

The promotion will also be featured in the airline’s "Click ‘n Save" e-mail newsletter, distributed weekly to more than 6.4 million subscribers.

Flights and hotels must be booked through Southwest.com from June 24 through 30 for travel through Oct. 30. A 14-day advance purchase is required. Other details of the Featured Destination fare special are available on Southwest.com.

The promotion is a marketing effort by the Kansas City Convention & Visitors Association, in cooperation with the Missouri Division of Tourism and the Kansas City Aviation Department. This is the sixth time the KCCVA has been involved with the Southwest Airlines Featured Destination Program. This winter, a similar two-week promotion generated 4,248 incremental passengers to the city.
