I Love Visiting My Home Town

07/13/2008
Diane O. - Lincoln, NE

I was born at St. Luke's Hospital, graduated from Center High S.chool and UMKC, but left K.C. for northern Idaho in 1980 and then landed in Lincoln, Nebraska, thirteen years ago. Even though I no longer have any family in Kansas City, there is no city I would rather visit. Omaha is much closer--less than one hour away vs. three hours to K.C.--but I never go there. If I'm getting away from Lincoln, I ALWAYS choose Kansas City!

There is so many great things to do there--go to a Royals game, to the beautiful K.C. zoo and Starlight Theater still rocks even after all these years! I can always spend a wonderful afternoon at the Nelson-Atkins Museum, stop off at Winstead's for what I consider to be the best hamburger in the U.S. and then cruise around the Country Club Plaza for the remainder of the evening. Even though nearly all of the Plaza stores have changed since I was a kid (egad, I remember when Emery Byrd Thayer was on the northwest corner of Wornall Rd. and 47th!!), it is a joy to walk among the beautiful buildings and all the fountains, statues, art work, etc., and, of course, especially between Thanksgiving and New Year's when the Plaza is ablaze with lights. There's nowhere else like it to get you in the holiday spirit!

I also love the Liberty Memorial, Union Station and Crown Center. The Jazz Museum and the Negro Baseball Leagues Museum are fabulous as well. So many great places to visit, so little time! It's nearly impossible to get to all the wonderful places to eat--all the great barbecue places, but especially the original Bryant's at 18th and Brooklyn, Stroud's for the best fried chicken dinner in America (you could write a poem about their gravy!) or any of the famous steak houses. How could you find any finer dining than enjoying an aged K.C. strip in K.C.?

Just something as simple as driving from the Plaza on Ward Parkway for a spin around Meyer Circle and then east on Meyer Boulevard through lovely Brookside all the way to beautiful Swope Park makes my heart glad. What beautiful neighborhoods, houses and churches--my parents ashes are interred in the rose garden of the chapel at Country Club Christian Church. If I were ever to move from Lincoln, the ONLY city I would consider moving to that is larger than Lincoln would be Kansas City. I am always proud to claim it as my hometown and sing its praises far and wide!

Heart of the City

07/17/2008
Joel T. - Kansas City, MO

Last year I led my younger brother and cousin on a trek through the streets of Kansas City. I called it "Kansas City Field Trip." Our motto: "Embrace the Tradition; Seek out the Landmarks." My hope was, by introducing a few of the many special places in our city, to ignite a passion for Kansas City within my young pupils. Our journey took us to the base of The Scout monument, to the top of Liberty Memorial, through the Jazz District, and past many of our city's beautiful statues and fountains. As significant as that day was, I realized one day could hardly illuminate for them the totality of my love for Kansas City. One field trip cannot possibly encapsulate all that Kansas City is.

You see, Kansas City is more than The Scout overlooking the city. Kansas City is more than 35, 435, and 635. It is more than the Missouri River winding beneath the Paseo Bridge. It is more than a ride to the top of Liberty Memorial. It is more than four birdies scattered across a well-kept lawn. Kansas City is 25 years (my lifetime) of memories.
Kansas City is renting out the back room at Don Chilito's and gorging myself on sopapillas; Kansas City is summer picnics and running through the fountains at Crown Center; Kansas City is fighting over the Bo Jackson baseball card with my brother; Kansas City is itchy legs at Theater in the Park; Kansas City is a first kiss after a Christmas carriage ride through the Plaza; Kansas City is standing in Arrowhead as Joe Montana hits Tim Barnett in the corner of the end zone.

Kansas City is learning to drive in the Metro North Mall parking lot; Kansas City is falling asleep to Jayhawk basketball on black and white TV; Kansas City is discovering new memorabilia tucked away in a corner of Chappell's; Kansas City is pizza and doughnuts after the Trolley Run; Kansas City is a father taking his little boy to ride the escalators at Oak Park Mall; Kansas City is the race between KUDL and Star102 to play Christmas music; Kansas City is Buck Night and a Royals victory.

Kansas City is shaky legs gazing from City Hall's observation deck; Kansas City is wondering at Union Station's intricate ceiling; Kansas City is a group of guys from JCCC touring local barbeque joints for over 12 years; Kansas City is feeding the goats at the Deanna Rose Farmstead.

Why do I love Kansas City? Kansas City is home.

Really Cool

brian c. - topeka, KS

Coming down from Topeka, (where there is nothing to do) KC offers fantastic fun. Every thing from Worlds of fun, to museums, Union Station with incredible exhibits, so many places to eat and shop it would take for ever to go through all of them, pretty scenery, good prices. Thank God it is so close to Topeka so Topekan's can acutally go some where for fun. Winning any thing going to KC would be great. Thanks, Brian

I love Kansas City because it embraces art from all around the world as exampled by the showing in Mill Creek Park. If the J.C. Nichols fountain is not enough and the Nelson Atkins Museum is not enough, we fly an entire exhibit in from England. Bravo KC.

Connie M. - Lee's Summit, MO

Having just moved to the area last year, my family has found great pleasure in taking all our out-of-town guests to the Nelson-Atkins. We've been numerous times and find new things to marvel at during each and every visit. My young sons love it as much as the adults do. In fact, they act as amateur docents, pointing out and explaining their favorite works of art to friends and family. What a fabulous artistic treasure trove!

Kristin S. - Blue Springs, MO

I moved to the Kansas City area about 2 years ago and I love every minute of it. My son and I can always find some activity to enjoy whether that be Crown Center, Legends, parks, Worlds of Fun, free activities with the Power and Light District or the City Market. I am a single mother of a 2 year old so money is tight but we are always able to find a free activity or something for a minimal price to enjoy. As you can see from my pictures attached, he absolutely loves the fountains througout Kansas City. Kansas City brings excitement and happiness into our lives. I am very proud to live here and be a part of such a wonderful, open community. Thanks!

The Colors of Kansas City at Night

07/20/2008
Brian P. - Raymore, MO

Night is not a time of darkness. Night is a time of color, sparkle and splendor. Very few people see this splendor unless captured as a photograph. I took this image 3 years ago because I love the night and KC's Union Station, Bartle Hall and the downtown skyline show off the dazzling color of our beautiful city so well. Now printed on canvas at 36x48 and hanging proudly in our home, every person who has seen it comments about the colors they have never seen, or taken the time to see. In this case, a picture really does speak a thousand words.

Thank you Kansas City

07/21/2008
Melissa G. - Kansas City, MO

I am a professional Tour Guide in Kansas City and I spend my days showing people all that our city has to offer. I love boasting about our fountains, our love of art, the friendly people here, our great Art Deco architecture and basically everything about this city. There is always so much to do here, it's hard for me to keep up.

I have grown up in KC in Lake Lotawana, and I have never seen the city the way that it is today. I never imagined we would have the kind of downtown development that we have now, and it is such a feeling of pride to see people finally able to enjoy everything that downtown has to offer. I love seeing people enjoying our city. It is a hidden secret in the Midwest, and that secret is now being told.

Thank you to the everyone who is making our city a booming renaissance! We need it and we deserve it!

HOT IN THE CITY

07/21/2008
LILLIA L. - KANSAS CITY, MO

Spend some time at the K.C. Zoo, I did . although the natives were restless and pretended to not be paying attention, they new we were there. These Pictures were taken on my 40 th birthday July 14th 2008. I'm standing in front of the a house that too small and made with a straw roof (talking about what you get for the money) in K.C. You'd find much better accommodations if you are a hard worker so. while I could complain I won't. Well that's my take on K.C. it has more to offer then you might think you just have to get out and find it.

Kansas City is full of surprises, you never know what may happen from weekend to weekend. I was on a late night walk with my girlfriend around the plaza and we saw the fountain in front of Eddie Bauer. But we noticed something different about it. The fountain had bubbles coming out! It was really remarkable and made a memorable experience we won't soon forget.

lucky enough to meet kansas city!...

Meghan B. - winooski, VT

June 2005 I was lucky enough to arrive in the city it was a monday afternoon after taking my first flight ever with several people I was aquainted but did not know well at the time. I was an 18 year old fresh out of school from burlington vermont and this was somthing I never thought In a lifetime id be lucky enough to do. I had competed in a competition known as skills usa through my school and recieved the goldmedal for my state. eagerly I aited two months for this week long trip that ill never forget for the rest of my life! my first impressions of the city was it was so clean for a city! I remember seeing these beautiful water fountains every where I had never seen so many in my life! the first night we were there we ate at this steakhouse ill never forget! the food was there tasted so homemade and fresh you could watch them make these steaks that were so tasty you couldnt get enough. the next few days we were lucky enough to tour the city and the feel in the city was so welcoming and at home! walking around the city and visiting all the archetecture and beautiful statues you could feel the spirit of the city and it made me feel alive! we were lucky enough to visit worlds of fun and by this time aquaintances became good friends that im so thankful to have met that we got to meet on such a special occasion and a beautiful place. the atmosphere made us feel so at home when the 6 days swiftly passed by us after visiting the kansas city royals stadium (probabally the biggest builiding ive ever been in) , all the beautiful fountains, the neat gift shops and malls, the delectible food I can still clearly remember the smell. We finally had to say good-bye as we sat in the Kansas CIty International airport I in my Tornado Chaser t-shirt. we sat there reminising already on all the special places we had met in one week and we all had the same sadness amongst us as we said our goodbyes, I will never let those memories fade of my week in kansas city where I made special friends and had probabaly the most exciting time of my life. If im ever lucky enough to travel again I would most definatly revisit kansas city missouri. -meghan m brown

The reason we love KC is the spectacular views. These pictures are from the top of the 30th floor at city hall downtown Kansas City. Going into city hall it is very historic. The top of city hall offers an outside breath taking view of our city from every angle possible. This is one of those city secrets that everyone should take advantage of.

We waited 8 long years before we finally got pregnant. Daddy was very excited when he found out he was having a boy. One of the things he couldn't wait to do was to take "his boy" to the Royals game.

Well Joshua was born in May, and has already been to two games!

His 1st game was at 6 wks., and the 2nd game was at 9 wks., and daddy is already planning another! A daddy's prayer was answered!

08/04/2008
Donnah O. - Olathe, KS

We just love the fountains at Kansas City. It can truly be said that it is enjoyed by people of all ages. It is a relaxing getaway during summer on a hot, sunny day. The musical fountain show at the Crown Center is Kansas City's own version of Bellagio Hotel's singing water fountain in Las Vegas, having program by the the same firm. But the difference is that when the music is not playing, everyone can take a splash in the fountain. This is the best fountain place in the country, if not in the world.

As a huge animal lover I have always enjoyed the Kansas City Zoo from the time I was a child taking field trips to now as an adult. The zoo provides a pretty up close view of the animals and has a very nice natural environment for the animals. It seems to be getting bigger and better every year. I recommend anyone coming to Kansas City to make time to check out the Kansas City Zoo and they will not be disappointed.

Heather G. - Omaha, NE

We took a trip to the Alicia Keys concert at the Sprint center. After the concert we all went to the club and danced like we didn't care!! After a few shots of Patron we were good to go. We rolled in around three AM after stopping at Wendy's for a bite to eat off the $1 menu, stayed at the Marriott!!

Waking up was tough but we made it and then went shopping!! Bought a few new dresses and then stopped for a bite to eat at Jack Stack BBQ in the Plaza! It was now time to get ready again and the hit the town for first Friday; was a fabulous nite again! We were dragging in the morning but hit the road for home. Had a great time in KC and can't wait to go back for another great weekend. Yeah gas prices are high but if you can have the memories we created, it is worth every penny!! I would be thrilled to be able to have a getaway with my boyfriend and see attractions that I have not yet had the chance to see. Thanks for the consideration! Heather :o)

Theses photos were taken during my first Christmas in Kansas City; Dec 2008. My best friend / college roommate drove down to Kansas City to attend a work sponsored Holiday party with me. When we left the party it was a surprisingly warm and breezy evening. I think it approximately 56 degrees out! I decided to impress her by taking her to skating rink at the Crowne Center. Conditions were perfect for splashing around in the fountains while upbeat Christmas music was jingling in the background.

Rich with Family Tradition

08/12/2008
Sheri J. - Olathe, KS

My family and I love Kansas City. Kansas City is a community that supports it's families by providing rich opportunities to establish traditions that can last for generations. I am sharing two sets of pictures of examples where our city has kept holiday traditions alive for my family.

One set is of my brother and I in 1977 and my sons and I (30 years later) in 2007 at Gillham Park at 39th & Gillham. There is a winter wonderland set up for the whole family to enjoy with lights, and plenty of holiday cheer.

Last year, we had a snow ball fight, hot chocolate and put our letters in Santa's mailbox. A brass band was playing and, of course, Santa was there taking time to hear every child's wish. You can feel that families are a priority to this town in seeing all the hard work that goes into keeping these activities in such beautiful shape and providing them at no charge. The second set of pictures is of my cousin's and I in 1975 and my two sons and I in 2005 on the Christmas train.

Every holiday season, as a child, my family would meet downtown at The Jones Store for a Christmas party. We rode the train through a magical land, ate cookies and visited with Santa. Our parents dressed us in red velvet and took lots of pictures. Now, thanks to a group of volunteers, who restored the train so beautifully, my own children can ride this same train at Union Station. Kansas City...where families are encouraged to spend time together and create memories that transcend time.

Day at the ALS walk/Nelson Museum

08/13/2008
Teresa R. - Cassville, MO

One time right after the annual ALS walk, Walk to Defeet ALS. It had to be in 2001 on a Sunday. We were there to support my brother, Eric B. who had been recently diagnosed with ALS. The walk used to go around the Plaza area. What a great walk it was. With bag pipe serenade and all. I love the architecture through the Plaza area.

It was a little rainy in the morning but by the afternoon the sun was out and it was a beautiful day. Blue skies and brisk air, it was a wonderful fall day. My son, Marshall and I went over to enjoy the Nelson Museum. As we came out of the building we were walking along the trees where a sloping hill came out by the museum. We couldn't resist the temptation to lay down on the grassy knoll and watch the clouds go by above.

It was one of the most poignant, beautiful days that I have had with my family and son and I will never forget it. That's why I LOVE Kansas City!

Why I Love KC Getaway Contest

08/19/2008
Eleanor K. - Long Beach, CA

Even though I live in California, Kansas feels like home to me. I have become the unofficial "Ambassador of Kansas" in California! They only know Kansas as this backwards state "infested" by cows. I tell them, "Kansas is beautiful, clean and spacious. It has diverse culinary treats from the best steaks to the freshest sushi and seafood. The people are caring and warm even in the coldest of winter - they will melt your heart! Even thunderstorms pack their own rainbows! The air is still clean and unpolluted. Kansas is a place for all ages from babies to senior citizens and their community calendar is filled with activities for all. I also noticed that in department stores, the sales clerks, etc. are both young and old alike, meaning everyone is treated and given job opportunities. Some stores in other states do not practice this. Kansas gives you a total sensory experience from it's sights and colors, delightful smells and tastes! Gooooooo Kansas!

Year-round fun and a generous spirit

08/19/2008
Codi S. - Leavenworth, KS

I grew up loving my rural hometown, but Kansas City has convinced me there is much to love in the city! KC offers a plentitude of entertainment, educational, and employment opportunities. Housing is affordable, and the people are friendly!

This summer I asked my nieces from back home to come visit Aunt Codi in the "big city." Because KC is so family friendly, I was able to show my nieces all sorts of fun! Below are pictures from the KC Zoo and Worlds of Fun. My nieces and I made memories in KC that will last a lifetime.

Another great thing about KC is that in this city is my favorite volunteer organization: Camp Quality; Camp Quality is a summer camp and year-round support network for children with cancer. Camp Quality draws upon the kind hearts of KC-members who generously support the organization with fundraisers, donations, supplies, services, and precious volunteer work. KC truly makes miracles happen for local children with cancer!

This is a great place to call home!

Kansas City, what's not to love!

I love here not only because I came from a small town to live here, but the many things to do here is amazing. Everytime I get a chance I want to see something new and surely I will never run out of things to do. The activities offer children lot of fun from musems to parks to even the local pools, are so fun to do and will surely cure bordom. The seasons that we experience give this city the change that never offer the same things. I love to take walks on the many trails offered. View animals in the zoos and just the nature of it all. Watching the Royals play or the race cars go by or the thrill rides that we go on we will never forget, soaking up the sun or freezing in the cold, how much our family enjoys getting out together.

Jazz Up in the Never Resting KC Night

08/20/2008
Kuanyu C. - Leawood, KS

I moved to KC in 2004 to attend the school and settle down. At the beginning, I thought KC is just another Midwest boring corn field city. Nevertheless, I fell in the love with KC for its unique quiet beauty, simplicity, but also unstoppable growing of diverse culture and firm connection with its rich past. Therefore, I start researching the history of KC and joyfully surprised with its hidden colorful Jazz history. The Jazz of KC carries its own exceptional flavor which none of the Jazz I heard at Chicago, New York, or New Orleans can express. The Jazz in KC has the sweetness and tender love which come not as strong head at first sight yet lasting. It contains the prospect for the coming glory future and also the secretly forgotten magnificence from the past. All these give KC Jazz a solely bitter sweet taste just like slowly eating a piece of chocolate with a cup of black coffee. Today, I call Kansas City, my home, my sweet home.

Summer's in Kansas City

08/21/2008
Kourtney G. - Peculiar, MO

I love summer in Kansas City. The city is so alive with culture, fun, and free entertainment. First Friday's is not only fun but it provides a glimpse into the outstanding artists in our city. My son and I love to go to Fritz's for dinner, then he will play in the Crown Center fountain, and we end the evening with Free Friday Night Flick. (Enjoying a bag of Topsy's popcorn.)
We will often go to the pavillion at Zona Rosa and listen to the music or head over to Penguin Park to climb atop an Elephant.

This is one of the most amazng places in the world to live. I am proud to call it home.

Always a good time in KC

08/22/2008
Jessica B. - Wichtia, KS

We go to Kansas City about every 3 months. We usually come for the concerts and to visit friends, but we always jam pack our schedule with a variety of KC attractions. We have stayed and shopped in the Plaza, which is always beautiful and relaxing.

We have partied and rocked out in Westport. We've been to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun many times as well as many Chiefs and Royals games. Last year we attended the international festival and had a chance to learn curling fromt he KC Curling Team.

We've dined at hundreds of restaurants and shopped everywhere from East KC to Legends out West. This trip we'll try the new Power and Light District as well as the new Coco Key Water Park near the Royals stadium. No matter what the occasion, we always have a good time in Kansas City.

Kansas City is Home

08/23/2008
Bradley Y. - Overland Park, KS

We moved here 3 years ago with very little expectations of Kansas. Since that time we have grown to love Kansas City as our home. We have 3 children and there is an endless supply of family fun.

We have enjoyed the zoo, Deanna Rose Farmstead, theater in the park, the Crown Center, Union Station, Science City, The Great Wolf Lodge, The Legends, the Speedway, the college basketball hall of fame, the symphony, the KC Brigade, and so much more.

We are so happy to have found the wonderfulness of Kansas City and we are always spreading that news to friends and family. Thank you Kansas City!

We love KC!

Theresa F. - Westmoreland, KS

We love leaving our small town to spend a 3-day weekend in Kansas City. We are often short on time and money, but just a couple hours away, Kansas City makes the perfect mini-vacation for myself and my three kids.

They loved Science City and have been talking about it ever since we visited three years ago. The Kansas City Zoo, T-Rex, and Great Wolf Lodge have also been huge hits with them. We're headed there for a great time at Worlds of Fun this Labor Day weekend!

Why I Love KC

08/31/2008
Melissa H. - Joplin, MO

My husband and I visit KC at least once a month. As a child, I lived in North Kansas City and miss it dearly. We have been trying to get a job transfer there for a few years now, but so far none have been available. So to get our fix we often drive to KC for short visits. As soon as we step in to the city, I feel at home again. My mood changes completely. Whether we are walking through downtown, shopping on the Plaza, cheering on the Chiefs, reminiscing about the "Good Old Days" on the Orient Express at Worlds of Fun, enjoying hot dogs at Kauffman, hearing some music at 18th & vine, or enjoying some delicious Arthur Bryants, it just feel like home.

We enjoy learning about all the history behind the city, and how that affects the way the city is today. I love seeing all the progress that is happening in Kansas City and hope to someday be a part of it

Kansas City: A Heartland Treasure

09/03/2008
John D. - Lincoln, NE

My wife, my 9 year old son, and I just returned from a long Labor Day Holiday weekend in Kansas City. We had such a terrific time, we can not wait to return! There are so many fun and interesting things to do, it is hard to know where to start!

The rides at World's of Fun are fantastic, and rival (or exceed) those at Six Flags or Disney. Union Station is not only an incredible architectural masterpiece, but also houses an incredible "hands on" science center and planetarium. The Kansas City Zoo is world class, and the World War I monument and museum are a fitting tribute to our brave forefathers who fought to preserve our freedoms. Shopping opportunity abounds with retailers to fit all tastes at locations including Crown Center, The Plaza, and Oak Park Mall.

Kansas City cuisine...where do I start! Some of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at... anywhere. The only bad part about the trip? When we had to leave. But we will definitely return.

No Need to See More Than KC

09/18/2008
Kyla A. - Salina, KS

Every year for our family vacation, we travel to Kansas City. There are over 100 things to see, eat, and explore in this large city. Whatever you are looking to do, from viewing the romantic lights of the Plaza to cooling off at Oceans of Fun, Kansas City has something to offer for everyone, any age. That is why our family returns year after year.

With the season change, comes change in our personalities. My teenage daughter, Stephanie, is a Senior at Liberty High School and has had a complete makeover this fall. You can see her at one of the many Haunted houses here in Kansas City. Where else can you get great food, fun and see people change with the seasons.

A Child's Wonderland

09/29/2008
Sarah E. - Overland Park, KS

The KC area has so many wonderful activities and events for children to participate in. One of our favorite places to go is the Deanna Rose Childrens Farm in Overland Park. What a wonderful free activity for the city to provide.

My daughter could go everyday and feed the baby goats! We also enjoy the Kansas City Zoo with all the great animals and of course we can't leave without a ride on the big beautiful carousal.

We also look forward every year to the KC Pumpkin Patch in Gardner. What a spectacular organized event! My daughter was only 1 last year and still had a great time looking at pumpkins and petting the animals. As the leaves are beginning to turn I cannot think of a better place to live than this beautiful, bountiful area.

Sandra H. - Liberty, MO

Kansas City offers so much for everyone and even the youngest get to enjoy it all. As a proud Grandparent I love taking the children to the different events and watching their reactions!

Photo 1.Which way do we go? The little ones love the zoo and we go at least twice a year with the Grandchildren. Our Damian and Lorelei are sharing a drink while deciding what to see next.

Photo 2; Ribs Ribs Ribs Damian is only two but even he knows good KC BBQ when he gets his hands on a juicy rib at the BBQ Cookoff.

Photo 3: Levi offfically opens Fall with a visit to a pumkin patch. How can you choose?

These are only a few of the many photos I have of special events and fairs that we have enjoyed and shared with our Grandchildren. KC is definately a family hometown and vacation area.

Kathy E. - Broken Arrow, OK

I have visited Kansas City in every season and I must say I always go home Happy ! My son graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute and we got very familiar with Kansas City.

I love the art museums, the Kauffman memorial garden, prydes in Wesport, the Plaza and all its fountains and the Christmas lights & carriage rides. This weekend we explored the new Power & Light District and finally saw the Arabica Steamboat Museum and again I was inspired. I imagine one day as a little old lady settling there and wandering your lovely streets, near the Plaza of course and just being a very Happy old lady. I guess you can see Kansas City inspires dreams too !

Vivid and proud

Merry B. - Holt, MO

I love KC because of the diversity. There are people from all sorts of different backgrounds, in all walks of life, and all are proud to hail from Kansas City. Our city prides itself on taking steps to better our neighborhoods and schools, all the while keeping a big place in our hearts for the arts. Take the Power and Light District, for example. I am amazed daily by the constant drive to improve our city and hone our appreciation for the arts. Like the photo I am sending of this beautiful peacock, taken at the Kansas City Zoo, we are beautiful in our array of backgrounds, zest for life, and eager for change.

09/29/2008
Martin E. - Broken Arrow, OK

Kansas City is not just for the gals. Kansas City has great sport complexs and I have seen a baseball game in your stadium. A guy can chug a beer at Kelly's Bar in Westport and feel the history while chugging a beer. Guys like art too and you have some of the best museums around. I love all the wide selections of eateries too. I have tried many of them and Arthur Bryants can't be beat for BBQ. Yep, you can visiit Kansas City and still be a man's man.

You just never know what you will see at Arrowhead!

09/30/2008
Christopher C. - Kansas City, MO

As a KC native, I love sports and I love the KC Chiefs. Sure, there are plenty of years where that means watching tough losses and enduring a bit of quarterback controversy, but the atmosphere in early fall with beautiful weather makes for a great day. I've sent in a couple pictures from my visit last year to year to see the Chiefs play the Bengals.

Picture #1 "Quarterback Controversy"- Commentary - This lovely pic shows three Chiefs quarterbacks playing (warming up) at the same time.. I found it a riot to submit for this year as the Chiefs seem to get a new quarterback every week. Maybe we should just go ahead and start 3 of them each game and confuse the heck out of the other teams! :)

Picture #2 - "Team up with Nick" - Commentary - Every day in KC and at Arrowhead is great fun, on this day my girlfriend, Megan B. and I got a chance to meet Nick Lachey as he was in town to support his charity foundation with Larry Johnson for Internet Saftey Day. A great cause bringing out "star-studded fans". A side note to the story, I took this picture using my girlfriends HOT PINK camera, to which Nick was noteably impressed and said "Nice camera you have there..." :)

Picture #3 - "Cow Town" - Commentary - Well, we are called a cow town for several reasons, I just didn't know that they also attended Chiefs games and wear flowers! Good fun... come on - another great reason to LOVE KC.

Cheers!

We love Kansas City in the Fall! It is the perfect time to visit the Zoo!! Many of the animals can be viewed up close, and many of them are friendly and interactive.

We also love Kansas City for the beautiful parks and recreation! As a family, we often take advantage of the wonderful biking trails. Not only is it great to get outdoors and exercise, but its wonderful spending time together as a family.
