Tour of Missouri, Prime Viewing Spots
Crown Center/Union Station
- With the Start/Finish on Grand Boulevard north of Pershing Road and the Health & Wellness Expo in Washington Square Park, this will be the hub of activity. The route heads south on Grand through Crown Center before cutting back down Main to Pershing and past Union Station, providing two viewing opportunities just one block apart.
Penn Valley Park/Liberty Memorial
- A natural bowl, lots of wide open spaces and a nice climb up Kessler Road will make this a great viewing spot. As an added bonus, the 217-foot-tall Liberty Memorial provides a scenic backdrop. Look for a King of the Mountain line at the top of the hill.
Summit Street/Westside
- The street lives up to its name with a serious climb leading to a King of the Mountain line at the top near 17th Street. Expect a festive atmosphere as the Mexican-American community of the Westside neighborhood should provide one of the most spirited crowds of the day.
Sprint Center/Power & Light District
- After a $5 billion renaissance, Downtown KC is ready for its close up. The route will pass Sprint Center and the Power & Light District on Grand Boulevard. Look for a Sprint Line in front of Sprint Center between 13th & 14th streets.
Berkley Riverfront Park
- Nestled along the Missouri River, the long straightaway through the park will offer some of the best views of the race. The Port Authority of Kansas City and Friends of the River invite the public to a picnic watch party with food, drinks, kids activities, big-screen TV and a band.
