Convention Facilities Overview

The eight-square-block convention and special event facility can accommodate every need with 388,800 square feet of column-free exhibit space on one floor, 48 state-of-the-art meeting rooms, a 2,400-seat fine arts theater, and arena that seats more than 10,700 people and two unique outdoor reception, festival and activity areas. The complex is connected to major downtown hotels and underground parking by glass-enclosed skywalks and below-ground walkways.

Bartle Hall Convention Center

Bartle Hall

With 388,800 square feet of contiguous, column-free space, Bartle Hall’s main exhibition hall covers an area the size of eight football fields. This allows for more than 2,000 10-by-10 foot booths, and enough room to create eye-catching pavilions or huge equipment displays without having to squeeze them between columns. Learn More

Junior Ballroom Convention Center

Junior Ballroom/Great Hall

Features 23,910 square feet, 28-foot ceilings and is divisible into eight breakout rooms. Comfortably seats 2,250 for general session and 1,650 for banquets. Connects via skywalks directly to the exhibit floor level of Bartle Hall and Municipal Auditorium. Learn More

2100 Meeting Space Convention Center

2100 Meeting Rooms 

The 2100 series meeting rooms have 36,336 total square feet of meeting space and 8,340 square foot lobby. The nine rooms in 2100 can accommodate more than 3,640 people in comfortable theatre-style seating. Learn More 

Convention Center 2200 Meeting

2200 Meeting Rooms

The 2200 meeting rooms at the Kansas City Convention and Entertainment Facilities offer flexibility in meeting space and give the planner many options. With 25,480 square feet of meeting space and a 22,500 square feet lobby, the 17 meeting rooms can accommodate more than 2,432 people in comfortable theatre-style seating. Learn More

Barney Allis Plaza Convention Center

Barney Allis Plaza

Barney Allis Plaza is located across the street from Municipal Auditorium and the Convention & Entertainment Facilities. Visitors and locals enjoy the tree-lined urban park with fountains, sculptures, seating areas and tennis court - a unique green outdoor reception, festival and activity area. Learn More

Kemper Arena

Kemper Arena was constructed in 1974 at a cost of $22 million and is owned and managed by the City of Kansas City, Missouri. In 1997, a $23 million expansion project added 2,000 more seats, upgraded the lower level seating, added four restrooms, an ADA accessible entrance to the arena floor, an elevator and the new east lobby.
The original American Royal Arena was built in 1922 for $650,000. Ground was broken in 1991 at the same site for the new building at an estimated $33.4 million. The new American Royal building was completed in 1992.
The American Royal Association operates the American Royal Museum and is home to the American Royal Horse Show, Livestock Show.  The American Royal also hosts the World’s Largest Barbecue Contest each fall.

The Arena has 7,316 permanent seats, 2,405 seats on risers plus capacity for 1,000 theater-style on main floor.

Municipal Exhibition Hall

Exhibition Hall

The convention center's Exhibition Hall has 46,000 square feet of space on two levels for exhibitors, catered functions and special events.

The Hall has its own entrance lobby off 14th Street, is accessible to all parts of Municipal Auditorium and has direct access from the Auditorium Plaza Garage.

Municipal Auditorium Music Hall

Opened in 1936, this unique Art Deco theater is the perfect facility for special convention presentations, general sessions or featured entertainment.

Little Theatre Municipal Auditorium

Municipal Auditorium Little Theatre

Octagon shaped in a gleaming marble facade, the Little Theatre features an exterior charming promenade, balcony and a permanent stage area. Theater seating for up to 400 people and banquet seating for 225 with balcony alcove seating adding up to 36 people.
