If you are interested in volunteering, please select your preferred volunteer (job)s below.   Volunteers are asked to serve a minimum of two shifts. Every effort will be made to fulfill your requested assignment. However, we hope that you will understand if we need to place you where you are needed most.

-Volunteer now for the Big 12 Championships-

Volunteers will receive a volunteer shirt and be invited to a Thank You volunteer party following the event. A committee chair will contact you to confirm your assignment and answer questions you may have.

Volunteers are needed for the following:

• Alumni Support - works with the university alumni directors to assist them in coordinating a variety of alumni activities and other functions/pep rallies, etc. during the championships.
• Courtesy Cars - coordinates and manages the courtesy car program including working with the hotels on complimentary parking for all cars, distribution and return of cars and coordination of drivers.  
• Fan Fest - provides volunteer support for a Fan Fest tied to the specific event; volunteer staffing of interactive areas, fan zones and information booths and VIP ticketed functions.
• Fan Information - coordinates all Guest/Fan information welcome desks in various hotel properties downtown/Crown Center and the Plaza providing inquiring hotel guests general information: directions, restaurant recommendations, shopping, transportation, schedules, etc.
• Media Support - works with the Kansas City Sports Commission and Convention and Visitors Association to insure the event/sponsoring agency is receiving complete up to date media attention. Assists with web site content, media credential pick up, coaches interviews, press room/press row details, media day activities, etc.
• Transportation - drives shuttle vans from designated hotel properties to the Sprint Center and Municipal Auditorium and back to the hotels for VIP and media personnel also assigned airport pick-ups and returns. Drivers must be 25 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• VIP/Special Guest Services - provides special services to VIP guests. Responsibilities include staffing of hospitality suites and other VIP areas, making restaurant reservations, scheduling VIP tours of local attractions, gift deliveries, etc.
