2012 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship
The 2012 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship returns to Kansas City's Municipal Auditorium for the 11th time in Conference history and will be contested Wednesday-Saturday, March 7-10. Kansas City hosted the first six women's postseason events from 1997-2002, in addition to the 2005, '08 and '10-'11 championships.

Municipal Auditorium opened in 1936 and has hosted nearly every type of event from U.S. presidential campaigns to NCAA Final Four championships. The arena can seat 10,700 people with 7,300 permanent seats. The auditorium is accessible from the south side of 13th Street where visitors enter through the 3,600-square foot Grand Foyer. It is a short walk to Sprint Center, site of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Championship.
Seven different teams have won the previous 15 women's championships, led by Oklahoma with four crowns and Baylor with three. Iowa State, Texas A&M and Texas Tech have two titles each while Colorado and Texas have one.
