The Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship has been played in Kansas City 11 times since the league began competition in 1996‐97 - more than any other city in the Conference. “There is no place like Kansas City when it comes to college basketball,” Kansas City Mayor Sly James said. “The extension shows that our city is the No. 1 destination for Big 12 basketball and its fans.”
